Is it better to buy roses in containers or in bare-root form? |
Container grown roses have several distinct advantages over bare-root roses. Container grown are not limited to seasons and are able to be planted out all year round. Container grown are usually in flower so it is not necessary to rely on picorial labels which are often misleading. Because the plant has not had its roots cut there is no transplant shock and the plant will continue to grow without setback. An instant flowering rose garden can be planted. OUR CONTAINER GROWN ROSES ARE FULLY GUARANTEED TO GROW AND BLOOM OR YOUR MONEY WILL BE CHEERFULLY REFUNDED. |

Which is the best rootstock for W.A? |
All roses are grafted using "under-stock" from which the roots are produced. The aerial position is the cultivar, producing the flower of the desired variety. THE ONLY ROOTSTOCK TO BE TRIED AND PROVEN FOR W.A CONDITIONS IS "FORTUNEANA" Which is resistant to nematodes, virtually drought resistant and therefor able to tolerate our hot Summer. Unfortunately some garden centres and chain stores are selling roses grafted on inferior rootstock which is not compatible with our local conditions and will not thrive in the long term. Be sure you are planting "YEARS OF BLOOMING PLEASURE WITH FORTUNEANA ROOTSTOCK," for strong healthy bushes, with a long life expectancy and minimum maintenance. |

How much sun do roses require? |
Roses require atleast 5 hours full sun a day. Preferably the afternoon sun as this is more intense. Without sufficient sun the roses simply will not flower to their optimum and are prone to a variety of fungal diseases. It is recommended not to plant under tree canopies or in filtered sun positions. |
