Handy Hints

Choosing your Roses.

Types of Roses; Hybrid Tea(HT): Have Large Flowers borne sinly or with side buds, on long stems. Plants vary in size, but most grow from 1.5 to 2.5 metres tall. Florabunda Roses: Usually a little shorter and more compact in growth than HT's, with flower heads made up of clusters of smaller flowers. Generally make colourful garden displays but with limited vast life. Climbing Roses: Various flowering forms, but most produce canes of 3 to 4 metres in length which should be trained onto a trellis or fence. Canes are best layered in a horizontal position to encourage flowering. Miniature Roses: Tiny replicas of the HT forms, available in a vast range of colours. The plants require exactly the same treatment as larger roses and are ideally suited to growing in pots, flower boxes or as a border. Weeping varieties perform well in hanging baskets or as ground covers.
