Handy Hints

Fertilising
Fertilising is an important part of a rose's life because it produces lush new growth and plentiful blooms as well as adding essential minerals and elements to your soil. We recommend animal manure at the beginning of September and January which can be one of either chicken, cow, sheep or horse manure. If in coastal areas or an area which has high limestone content in the soil, never use chicken manure or any product of chicken manure as this will do detrimental damage to your roses. Follow by fertilising from September to April, once a month, with Black Magic rose food.
